We are modelling various aspects of African climate in conjunction with Prof. Albert Barcilon. A linear dynamical model is used to simulate wave formation, evolution, propagation and characteristics in conjunction with various basic states. The prevailing question if whether the observational links between rainfall and waves can be supported via modelling. Incorporated in this work is a study of the stabilities producing the waves and a study of waves on the Tropical Easterly Jet over Africa.
