NOAA-17 IMAGE SUMMARY FOR: September 13, 2006 IMAGE TIME: 1607Z |
|
SYNOPTIC SITUATION:
I will explain this to Liz and Melody.....
The most obvious feature in the image above is the presence of
a low over the northern central US. The strong pressure gradient
associated with the low is bringing in high winds to the area. In
addition, a cold front is draped over the Mississippi River area.
FL can expect cooler temperatures following the stormy weather currently
being experienced in the area.
CLOUD AND OCEANIC FEATURES:
And this section too!!!!
Stratus clouds with strong wind and rain dominate the area of the cold front.
Also stratus clouds are present within the area of low pressure in the
mid-US. Precipitation and even tornadoes are expected in the FL area as the
front currently over the MI move toward the area.
