WORKSHOP
In order for you to enjoy the full benefits of the training, it is important that you plan to attend the entire workshop unless you have made other arrangements with us. We have designed the workshop to train you in the operation of the software/hardware and in some basic meteorology concepts that you will need. We also have planned for exposure to some of our mentor teachers and other various curriculum- enhancing ideas.
LODGING
We have reserved space at motels in the area. You will need to call and make your room reservation at either one as soon as possible. We encourage you to share a room with another person to fully appreciate the workshop experience. We have found that this helps facilitate the learning curve and allows our participants to share expenses (i.e. car pools). If you want to share a room, you may call us to match you up with someone else who would like to share.
1. 30 rooms are reserved at the Inn of Melbourne. Located off of I-95 exit 71 the Inn of Melbourne is about a twenty-minute drive to the workshop. There is ample free parking at the Community College. Rate is $40.00. (407) 768-8439
2. 45 rooms are reserved at Motel 6. Located off of I-95 exit 70 this motel is within walking distance to the workshop site. Rate is $32.99. (407) 951-8222
Identify yourself as a FLORIDA EXPLORES! Workshop Participant when you reserve a room and at check-in.
Once you've made your room reservations, please contact us with the name of the hotel and a confirmation of the nights you will be staying.
If you have your computer,
bring it with you. It is strongly recommended that you bring your
computer since you will be installing software and hardware into the
system. Please bring your entire system, including but not limited to
cpu system, monitor, mouse, keyboard, and power strips. The workshop is
designed for intense hands-on training with your computer and the
software we provide. Therefore, bringing your computer ensures us that
you have learned and retained the training.
