Professor Emeritus
Research is directed principally toward understanding upper ocean
dynamics on time scales of several days of several years. Models of
the equatorial circulation, upper ocean and ice-ocean interaction have
been developed. The equatorial modeling research has described El Niño
dynamically. His research group is composed of postdoctoral fellows,
graduate students, and research assistants that use the supercomputing
facilities at FSU and elsewhere.
