Distinguished Research Professor of Meteorology
Dr. Nicholson has a wide range of interests that include tropical meteorology in general, land-atmosphere interactions, dynamic climatology, paleo- and historical climatology, drought and arid lands, and remote sensing. Much of her work is interdisciplinary, particularly that involving past climates. Most of it focuses on various aspects of climatic variability and change, particularly in Africa. She is currently writing a book on the climate and environment of arid and semi-arid regions.
