This page consists of links to the latest tropical satellite imagery from the GOES satellites. We update imagery hourly approximately 20 minutes after it is taken from the satellites, based on the distribution schedule from the Undiata McIDAS data stream. Visible (VIS) imagery and Infrared (IR) imagery are at 4 km horizontal resolution, and Water Vapor (WV) imagery is at 8 km resolution. These images are created using the Unidata GEMPAK software and are provided for educational use; they may not be available at all times so they should not be relied on for emergency use; commercial re-use/rebroadcast prohibited. Click on the thumbnails below to bring in the full image (1000 x 750).
The Infrared Images are enhanced with the TPC (Tropical Prediction
Center) enhancements from NOAA/NCEP/TPC and Unidata.
